Changing Attitudes – Recognize and Challenge Everyday Misconceptions about Disability!

Seven short theater vignettes show a comic view of persistent stereotypes:  the eternal child, the menace to society, object of pity and ridicule, the “patient” needing to be cured.  Examine these persistent attitudes and learn what to do about it.  Running time:  20 minutes

Abandoned to Their Fate

Drawing from scholarly records, institutional archives, original photography and media, this video traces the historical origins of the social stereotypes and exclusionary practices toward people with disabilities.  Beginning in the Middle Ages and concluding with the modern shift toward independent living and community inclusion, this program focuses on the moral, aesthetic and economic policies that shaped the lives of people with disabilities.  Running time:  30 minutes
