We are pleased to announce that our 2018 conference will be held August 7 – 10 at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, WI.  Our conference theme for this year is “Shaping the Future of Services: Creative Approaches and Solutions”.   We are currently seeking presentation proposals in alignment with this theme.  Specifically, we are looking for presentations that focus on the positive - what we can accomplish rather than what seems difficult (or, even impossible).  Topics of particular interest include innovative/creative approaches to:

  1. person directed plans/planning
  2. leadership/supervision
  3. supporting people with dementia, significant intellectual/physical/medical limitations, or mental illness/behavioral challenges
  4. staff recruitment/training/retention
  5. assistive technology
  6. employment
  7. community inclusion/establishing third places

We formally invite you to submit your proposals to present at our 2018 conference.  We welcome all proposal submissions – even those that address topics outside of those mentioned above.

This year we are accepting proposals electronically.  Please note that you will not be able to save incomplete proposals, so we recommend gathering all of your information ahead of time.  You will need the following information:

  1. A current resume or vitae for each speaker.
  2. A current photo (preferably a head shot) of each speaker.
  3. A session title.
  4. A session description (50 - 100 words that provide a clear description of the session content).
  5. A 1 - 2 page abstract that provides additional detail regarding your session content.

Proposals must be submitted by March 12, 2018.

The NAQ advisory committee will review proposals for relevance to the conference theme and topics of interest, content quality/clarity, and compatibility with the overall program.  Speakers will be notified via email or phone of the advisory committee's decision regarding the status of their proposal.

All presenters are required to register for the conference.  However, speakers with accepted proposals will receive a $100 discount on their registration fee (maximum of two speakers per proposal/organization).
