There are 4 things that are absolutely imperative as a new Q. Makes sure you have a good copy of the ICF MR regulations and any special state regs. Number 2 is to read the current and historical charts for everyone on your caseload and spend alot of time interacting with and observing your folks and staff. Number 3, learn your agency policies and procedures. Number 4, develop a system that works for you to effectively manage your time and organize your work load. Number 4 is usually the hardest part. It is very easy to get overwhelmed quickly with your routine job responsibilities when someone on your caseload has a crisis or you have a staffing issue. Good luck on your new job. |
