It may not help, but one technique being used in local daycares for disabled adolescent youth has appeared to be very effective. They are using a small spray bottle. These can be found in hair section or travel section at Wal-Mart. The bottles are filled with half vinegar and half water, enough to strongly taste the vinegar, and sprayed in the child's mouth or on lips after biting. Remember, we are talking about a very small spray like in a very small hairspray bottle. The vinegar was approved by the board of education as safe with no harmful effects. Your agency may not allow this, but again it has been found to be quite effective. |
