The guys on my caseload are very active individuals, but are assessed at the upper profound range of MR. Most also have challenges with appropriately using activity materials or decorations in the environment, either PICA, property destruction, self-injury, or using as weapons. It is often difficult finding age appropriate activities within our budget, and to find durable decorations to create a home like environment. I often purchase items to take home and see if I can break them. If I cannot then I will submit a purchase order. Does anyone know a good vendor. |
